NHL cancels schedule through Nov. 1

The National Hockey League announced this afternoon that its regular season schedule through November 1st has been cancelled. For the Predators, that means the following games have now been affected:

October 12 at Detroit
October 13 vs. St. Louis
October 16 vs. Colorado
October 18 vs. Vancouver
October 20 vs. Pittsburgh
October 22 at Anaheim
October 23 at Los Angeles
October 25 at Phoenix
October 27 at Colorado
October 30 at San Jose

105 games throughout the NHL have now been affected. According to the NHL, November 2nd is the last day they can start a full 82-game season. If that happens, these games would be rescheduled in the middle of the season or be added on to the schedule in April.

If no progress is made in the labor negotiations by this time next week, expect a bigger cancellation of games to be announced.
