Report: Kostitsyn being pursued by KHL

Are Sergei Kostitsyn’s days as a Nashville Predator numbered?

If the Twitter era has taught us anything, it’s that any tweets or news coming out of Russia should be taken with a grain of salt. But a pair of tweets caught our attention today from Russian reporter Igor Eronko regarding Predators forward Sergei Kostitsyn:

This isn’t the first time this off-season we’ve heard rumors of the KHL pursuing Kostitsyn. The 26-year-old played with Avangard Omsk during the NHL lockout and tallied 28 points in 27 games, so it’s possible there is some credence to these rumors.

Kostitsyn faced some scrutiny in Nashville this season when he made a well-documented, ill-timed line change in Edmonton. His season as a whole was a disappointment in Nashville, as he finished with three goals and 15 points in 46 games. He also has one goal and seven points in 22 playoff games with the Predators.

Kostitsyn has one year, $3 million remaining on his NHL contract.
