Stalberg out 3-4 weeks; tonight’s roster

Nashville Predators forward Viktor Stalberg left Tuesday’s game in the first period with an upper-body injury and did not return. It was revealed today by the Predators that Stalberg has an AC Sprain in his right shoulder and will likely miss three-to-four weeks.

Stalberg could essentially miss the first month of the regular season. Following a season ravaged by a multitude of injuries, this is an unfortunate injury for one of the Predators’ prized free-agent additions. Stalberg was signed to a four-year, $12 million contract on July 5 and was expected to be skating on the first or second line on opening night.

This injury opens up a potential roster spot for one of the forwards still on the training camp roster. Tryout Simon Moser scored a big goal Tuesday night and has left an impression on the coaching staff. Also, Taylor Beck may have a better opportunity now to make the team.

The Predators will travel to the nation’s capital today to take on the Washington Capitals at 6 p.m. central. The game can be heard on 102.5 The Game. Here is tonight’s roster:

12 Mike Fisher
13 Nick Spaling
15 Craig Smith
16 Rich Clune
21 Simon Moser
24 Eric Nystrom
26 Matt Hendricks
27 Patric Hornqvist
