Preds 4, Rangers 1: 5 things

The Nashville Predators got a much-needed 4-1 win against the New York Rangers on Tuesday night at Madison Square Garden.

Here are five things from Tuesday night’s game…

- Rich Clune came into this game without a point on the season. He finished the game with one goal and one assist, and his goal ended up being the game-winning goal.

- Paul Gaustad had a very good night offensively as well, as did Matt Hendricks. Gaustad had one goal and two assists while Hendricks had one goal and one assist. It was a memorable night for Nashville’s “wagon” line.

- After going pointless in his last five games, David Legwand picked up two assists to bring his point total on the season to 22.

- Carter Hutton got the start in goal for the Predators and played well. He stopped 28 of 29 shots against and look very comfortable in net after not starting a game in a month.

- Seth Jones got only 9:29 of ice time and was paired with Ryan Ellis.

3 stars of the game:

1. Rich Clune, NSH… Clune had one goal and one assist and his goal was the game-winner.

2. Paul Gaustad, NSH… Gaustad had one goal and two assists while winning 70 percent of his faceoffs

3. Carter Hutton, NSH… Hutton made 28 of 29 saves and played very well in net for the Predators in a game they really needed to win.
